on to the international punk scene and both releases since then In “Take Me Away” & “Time
& Place” have levelled up by delivering hard hitting, punchy and melodic skate punk
anthems.
They kicked off 2025 with an Australian tour with Millencolin & Pennywise. As well as joining
the roster at international record label Thousand Islands Records. Fake News Are ready to
cement themselves on the world stage as heavy hitters when they drop their forthcoming
album Dead Set. Whilst staying true to their 90’s Skate punk sound the boys have evolved
and raised the bar up on this album. Boasting a high energy and action packed live show the
release of Dead Set is a staunch reminder that Fake News is here to stay and create a
legacy that is true to the core values of 90’s Skate punk.
As Quoted by Multiple Media outlets Fake News are not here to fuck spiders
Brisbane punk Gods Fake News have done the hard yards, supporting legends of the scene such as Good Riddance, No Fun At All, Bodyjar, 28 Days and Guttermouth – and that was all within one year of starting the band in 2017!
Since then Fake News have capitalised on that early success with their 2021 album Everyday Warrior and have now followed that up with their latest four-track slab of goodness, Take Me Away.
Traversing the boundaries of traditional punk, Take Me Away sees Fake News explore their musical psyche even more, dipping their toes into other genres while still fully embracing the punk ethos from which they were born. – Heavy Mag
